Voyagers of the Void

Our team was VOYAGE and we made a game called Voyagers of the Void. Our team was Michael, Danny, Megan, Aahaan, Christopher, Kyle & Jordan

This game was made as part of the DES 101 Game Jam on Board Games with the theme being "Journey".

VOYAGERS OF THE VOID

In Voyagers of the Void, Players take on the roles of intergalactic explorers  gathering resources, upgrading their ships, and navigating the vast emptiness of space. With limited health, food, and energy, players must strategically manage their resources to reach checkpoints and make it to the end of their voyage.

Players must advance from the start with a loadout of their choosing.

You’re only allowed 3 cards maximum for a loadout. Your loadout cards will evolve throughout the game as you keep using them to either attack or defend against players and events.

Each player can allocate 24 points into their resources; Health, Food, Energy & Credits.

At different rounds in the game, players can buy more cards in exchange for some of their resources.

Each turn, an event card will play. Players have to strategize with their loadouts whilst balancing their resources to continue to advance in their intergalactic journey. 

At the end of each round players can cash in one of each resource for a victory point.

There will be checkpoints randomly as the event deck plays for players to replenish their resources by one each.

The game consists of several phases:

Phase 1:  At the start of the game each ship starts with 24 resources in total. 6 points for each resource. Players will also go through the loadout deck and decide on three cards to start the game.

Phase 2: Event cards deal positive and negative effects to your resources every round. This allows players to decide which option has less of a negative effect on them so that they can ensure their survival and continue to advance in their journey

Phase 3: Players must gather as many resources as they can to continuously purchase victory points. The first player to 20 victory points wins and earns the title ‘Void Master!’
